Ivan Ahimbisibwe delivered the decisive touch Brian Ssenyondo’s KCCA FC needed, scoring the winner in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC as Entebbe UPPC FC recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Police FC in Friday’s Uganda Premier League action.
Substitute Ahimbisibwe struck in the 58th minute at Hamz Stadium to hand the Kasasiro Boys maximum points in a closely contested Matchday Five encounter played on Uganda’s 64th Independence Day.

The forward’s introduction proved decisive, providing the breakthrough in a game where KCCA had created several promising opportunities but lacked the finishing touch to turn their dominance into goals.
After a frustrating first half, Ahimbisibwe needed only one clear opportunity to make his mark, finishing emphatically past URA goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba after Sammy Ssebaduka delivered an incisive cutback.
The goal offered a timely boost to Ssenyondo, who has been seeking greater cutting edge from his attacking department as KCCA pursue consistency in the 2026/27 campaign.
Ahimbisibwe, however, missed the opportunity to seal his brace moments later, sending a penalty over the crossbar after Ssebaduka had been brought down inside the box.

The miss gave URA renewed hope, but KCCA held firm to secure a valuable victory against the Tax Collectors.
KCCA had threatened from the opening stages, with Emmanuel Anyama wasting a golden opportunity in the 15th minute after beating the offside trap before firing wide with only Ssekebba to beat.
Youngster Joseph Junior Jude Kakooza also came close in the 23rd minute, volleying Lazaro Muhindo’s cross off target as the visitors searched for an opener.
URA were equally dangerous in spells. Norman Namanya headed over from close range in the 13th minute, while captain Arthur Kiggundu produced a crucial goal-line clearance around the half-hour mark to deny KCCA.
Godfrey Ssekibengo tested KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa with a long-range effort from approximately 30 yards before threatening again towards the end of the first half.
The encounter became increasingly physical, forcing FIFA referee Shamirah Nabadda to reach for her yellow card several times.

Alex Yiga, Marvin Nyanzi, Ibrahim Wamannah and Yunus Sibira were among those cautioned as the contest intensified.
Despite Ahimbisibwe’s missed penalty, KCCA managed the closing stages to claim three important points and give Ssenyondo another reason to believe his side can find the attacking spark needed to compete at the top.
Entebbe UPPC run riot against Police
Elsewhere, Entebbe UPPC FC produced one of the standout performances of the matchday, sweeping aside Police FC 3-0 to register an emphatic victory.
The printing and publishing side dominated the contest to collect all three points, while Police were left to reflect on a disappointing evening after failing to find a response.

The result gave Entebbe UPPC a significant boost in the early stages of the campaign, while KCCA’s narrow victory ensured the spotlight remained on Ahimbisibwe’s timely intervention.
