AFC LEOPARDS CONFIRM SIGNING OF TOM IKARA
AFC Leopards have bolstered their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season with the signing of Ugandan international Tom Ikara from Uganda Premier League side BUL FC.
The experienced shot-stopper joins the 13-time Kenyan Premier League champions as the club looks to build a squad capable of challenging for silverware both domestically and in continental competition. Ikara’s arrival is expected to add depth, leadership, and international pedigree to the Den.
The club confirmed that Ikara brings a wealth of experience having played across East Africa. He previously turned out for Ethiopian giants Sidama Coffee, where he tested himself outside Uganda, before returning home to feature for two of the country’s biggest clubs, KCCA FC and Police FC. His career also includes an early stint at Kirinya Jinja SS, where he first made a name for himself before earning a move to the Kasasiro Boys at KCCA FC.
Ikara’s credentials extend to the international stage as well. He has been part of the Uganda Cranes CHAN squad, representing his country at a major tournament and gaining valuable exposure at the highest level of African football. That experience is something AFC Leopards believe will be crucial as they target success in the upcoming campaign.
