CAF Hikes Annual Grants to Member Associations to $700,000
The Confederation of African Football @CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe has announced a 33% increase in annual financial support to Member Associations.
Under the new structure, each of the 54 CAF Member Associations will now receive up to USD 700,000 annually, up from USD 525,000.
CAF Zonal Unions will also benefit from a 20% increase, with their annual subvention rising from USD 750,000 to USD 900,000. The African Clubs Association (ACA) grant has been increased from USD 400,000 to USD 500,000.
The increment, announced on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, marks a 250% rise compared to 2021 when Member Associations received only USD 200,000. The figure was later doubled to USD 400,000 before increasing to USD 525,000 and now USD 700,000.
According to CAF, the additional funding is aimed at strengthening football development structures, investing in youth and women’s football, improving administration and governance, and building sustainable programs for players, coaches and referees.
Dr Motsepe said the move is part of his commitment to making football in all 54 African countries world-class and self-sustaining.
