SC Villa Travel To Nwoya As Isaac Gumperom Returns To Face Former Club Young Elephants FC

17-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa travels to Nwoya District ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against FUFA Big League side Young Elephants Academy FC at Young Elephants Park, Olwiyo.
The match is more than just pre-season preparation. It’s a homecoming.
Gumperom’s Emotional Return
It will be the first time Isaac Gumperom lines up against the club that shaped him, after completing a three-year move to SC Villa.
Gumperom departs Nwoya as a hero. He was the FUFA Big League Top Scorer last season and the driving force behind Young Elephants’ promotion push.

His journey tells the story of grassroots football in Uganda:
CAREER STATISTICS
- 2023-2024 | Young Elephant Academy
FUFA Big League — 7 Goals, 4 Assists - 2024-2025 | Young Elephant Academy
FUFA Northern Regional League — 17 Goals (League Top Scorer), 9 Assists - 2025-2026 | Young Elephant Academy
FUFA Big League — 17 Goals (League Top Scorer), 9 Assists
Tomorrow he returns to say thank you to the technical team, club officials, and fans who believed in him when he was just a boy with a dream in Nwoya.
More Than A Game
Gate collections from the match will go directly toward the day-to-day running of Young Elephants Academy a reminder that football at this level survives on community support.

For SC Villa, it’s a chance to test themselves against hungry Big League opposition.
For Young Elephants, it’s a chance to measure up against giants and celebrate one of their own.
For Gumperom, it’s proof that you can leave your roots, but you never forget them.
Going back to your roots matters. It honors where you started, inspires the next kid on that same dusty pitch, and shows that success is a ladder and you don’t kick it away after climbing.
Tomorrow in Olwiyo, a striker returns home. And football comes full circle.
