Quarter Finals: Buweekula, Kyagwe , Bugerere Take The Lead

The first leg of the quarterfinals kicked off today with four thrilling matches on the card.
At Kakindu Playground, Felix Ssekabuzza’s side, Buweekula, took the first leg advantage after claiming a 1-0 victory over Busujju in an away match.

Ssonko Shafik scored the only goal for Buweekula, assisted by Kalema Jimmy, who has since completed his move to StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC.

At Bishops Grounds in Mukono, Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa’s side, Kyagwe, took a 2-0 first-leg advantage over Ssese.

Match officials are together with team captains during the coin toss before kickoff.
David Mugalu put Kyagwe in an early lead in the 18th minute of the first half.
Ssese had a chance to level matters but unfortunately missed a penalty kick.
James Matege sealed the win for Kyagwe, scoring three minutes before stoppage time to double their lead.

Matege was voted Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
At Ntejeru Playground, Bugerere emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Buluuri.
Mike Katumwa gave Bugerere the lead in the 21st minute, but Lovis Okello equalized for Buluuri 12 minutes later.

However, Buluuri’s celebrations were short-lived, as Usman Mayanja netted the second goal for Bugerere just a minute later.
Mike Katumwa was voted Man of the Match for his outstanding contribution.

In the final match of the day, Mawokota shared spoils with Ssingo in a 0-0 draw at Buwama Playground.
Mawokota’s goalkeeper, Denis Mugerwa, put up an impressive display and was named Man of the Match.
