UGX 7M Handed Over To Coach Mike Mutebi After Successful Charity Match .

Under the lights of MTN Omondi Stadium, the score didn’t matter. What mattered was family.
It was a “give back” charity match that brought together Friends of Mustafa Kizza and Friends of Victor Wanyama — two teams of current and former players, legends and volunteers — all playing for one man: Coach Mike Mutebi.
Coach Mutebi has spent decades on the touchline, grooming and shaping some of Uganda’s finest football talents. Now it was the players’ turn to give back to the man who gave them everything.

The gesture was led by Mustafa Kizza, who rallied the football community to stand with his mentor in his time of need. On the pitch, rivalry was paused. Off the pitch, generosity took over.
The Impact
Through gate collections and donations, the football fraternity raised UGX 11,249,000.
UGX 7,000,000 has already been handed over to Coach Mike Mutebi to support him, with the remaining funds covering the operational expenses of the event.

The night drew support from across the region. Special appreciation went to Victor Wanyama, McDonald Mariga, FUFA, KCCA FC, Uncle T Development Foundation, alongside partners, sponsors, volunteers, media, players, and the fans who turned up.
For 90 minutes, Lugogo wasn’t about competition. It was about gratitude.
“Your generosity proved that football is more than a game — it is family,” Kizza said in a message of thanks after the match.
That’s the power of the sport Mutebi helped build. The coach who invested years into young boys now has a community investing back into him.
