Vipers SC Learn CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026 Group Opponents

Startimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC confirmed their participation in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup and now know who they will face in the group stage.
The Venoms were drawn in Group A alongside the Rwandan champions, Kenyan representatives, and a side from Djibouti.
The Rwandan club in the group is home to three Ugandan players: Denis Omedi, Hakim Kiwanuka, and Ronald Ssekiganda.
The official draw was conducted today at 10am Rwanda time in the Amahoro National Stadium Press Conference room in Kigali. CECAFA Head of Marketing and Communication Andrew Jackson Oryada oversaw the proceedings, with assistance from Rwandan football legend Haruna Niyonzima.
The 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup will run from July 24th to August 7th in Kigali, Rwanda, and will feature 12 teams from the CECAFA zone.
Full CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026 Draw:
Group A: APR FC (Rwanda), Vipers SC (Uganda), Gor Mahia (Kenya), Garde Républicaine (Djibouti)
Group B: Singida Black Stars (Tanzania), Simba SC (Tanzania), Jamus SC (South Sudan), Mogadishu City (Somalia)
Group C: Al Hilal (Sudan), Rayon Sports (Rwanda), Tusker FC (Kenya), KVZ SC (Zanzibar)
Tusker FC replaced El Merreikh SC after the Sudanese side pulled out due to delays in concluding their domestic league.
Gor Mahia FC and Tusker FC will represent Kenya. The two clubs will also represent Kenya in the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
Vipers SC Squad Update
Vipers have so far added four new signings: Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere, Loyce Mbaba, and Jacques Mangoba.
Several players have also departed the club, including Nicholas Wadada, Grant Matsiko, Livingston Mulondo, Bashir Ssekagya, Taddeo Lwanga among others
