Stanbic Uganda Cup: Mbalangu’s Men Made It To Semis, KCCA FC Out.

URA Football Club advanced to the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, eliminating KCCA FC in a thrilling quarterfinal match that went all the way to penalty kicks.
The match, played at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, saw KCCA FC take an early lead through Saidi Mayanja in the third minute, who nodded the ball into the back of the net assisted by Herbert Achayi’s cross. Herbert Achayi doubled KCCA FC’s lead in the 57th minute with a free kick, beating goalkeeper Meddie Ssekeeba, after Saidi Mayanja was fouled just outside the penalty area.

URA Football Club mounted a spirited comeback, with Innocent Kisolo pulling one back in the 84th minute with a deflected shot, before Ronald Otti leveled the scores in the 92nd minute with a powerful header from Bright Vuni’s free kick.
The match went into extra time, where neither team could find a winner, with the score remaining 2-2.
In the ensuing penalty kicks, URA Football Club proved too strong, winning 4-2, with Ssemujju Joseph, Moses Aliro, Ronald Otti, and Ismail Mugulusi scoring for the taxmen, while Dissan Galiwango missed.

For KCCA FC, Joel Sserunjogi and Ashiraf Mugume scored, but Enock Walusimbi and Herbert Achai missed, sealing their fate.
Goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba was voted the Man of the Match, putting in a stellar performance between the posts.
Coach Hussein Mbalangu praised his team’s commitment and determination, saying, “Allihamudullilah for today’s victory against an incredible opponent, am happy for the commitment and determination exhibited by the boys… I want to thank everyone who has contributed towards this victory, the soldiers (great lads), the technical and support staff, and our fans.
