In the 2026 Africa Kabaddi Cup final, Uganda was defeated by Kenya 35-21 in a match played at the Amaan Indoor Stadium in Zanzibar on August 11.
This was the second successive edition in which Uganda faced Kenya. In 2023, Kenya also defeated Uganda 44-23 at the MISC Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.
To reach the final, Uganda defeated Tanzania 50-31 in the semifinals, while Kenya defeated hosts Zanzibar 64-18, which allowed them to defend their title.
With this year’s triumph, Kenya has become the record champion with two trophies. The only other country to win the trophy is Egypt, which won the inaugural edition in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 2021.
The next edition of the tournament is expected to take place in 2028, with the Africa Kabaddi Union yet to announce the host nation after holding the first three editions in East Africa.
