Transfers: CS Sfaxien Unveil Ugandan Playmaker Hakim Mutebi On Three-Year Deal
Tunisian Ligue 1 giants CS Sfaxien
have completed the signing of Ugandan attacking midfielder Hakim Mutebi from Bosnian side BSK Banja Luka
The 20-year-old joins the Black and White on a three-year contract running until 2029 and will link up with fellow Ugandan Travis Mutyaba at the historic club.
Mutebi arrives with European experience and a reputation for creativity, pace and vision. He is expected to add more dynamism to Sfaxien’s attack as they prepare for both domestic football and the CAF Confederation Cup this season. CSS finished 3rd in Ligue 1 last term but will be targeting silverware on multiple fronts in 2026/27.
The Ugandan playmaker first rose to prominence at St. Mary’s Kitende before starring for Uganda’s youth teams. He helped the U18 Cranes win the 2023 CECAFA U18 Boys Championship in Kenya and was also part of the U23 side that won silver at the All Africa Games in Ghana.
Before his move abroad, Mutebi featured for 17-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa. He is known for his dribbling, football intelligence and ability to operate as both an attacking midfielder and left midfielder.
The move marks another milestone for Ugandan football, with more players making their mark in North Africa. At a club of CS Sfaxien’s stature, alongside Mutyaba and in continental competition, Mutebi has the perfect platform to grow.
