Aucho Khalid Set to Join Ethiopian Premier League Side

Reports: Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho has agreed terms to join Ethiopian Premier League side Sidama Coffee FC.
The defensive midfielder has earned over 70 caps for the Uganda Cranes and has featured in three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He was part of Uganda’s historic return to the finals in 2017 after 38 years in Gabon, played in 2019 under Sébastien Desabre where the Cranes were knocked out by Senegal in the Round of 16, and was also involved in the 2025 AFCON.
Sidama Coffee won their maiden league title after lifting the 2025-26 Ethiopian Premier League trophy. The club is currently preparing for the CAF Champions League preliminary round and is strengthening its squad.
Locally in Uganda, Aucho has played for UPDF FC, Water FC, and Jinja Municipal Council Hippos. In Kenya he turned out for Gor Mahia FC and Tusker FC.
His international stints include South Africa’s Baroka FC, India’s East Bengal and Churchill Brothers, and in Serbia for Red Star Belgrade and OFK Beograd.
Following an impressive 2019 AFCON, Aucho joined Egyptian side Misr El Makasa. In Tanzania, he has played for Young Africans and most recently Singida Black Stars FC.
