The Battle For Big League: Super Eagles, UWA FC, Kira UTD & Buwambo United’s Quest .
The Buganda Region Football Associations have confirmed the fixtures and dates for the upcoming 2025-26 season, with the league set to kick off on October 19, 2025.

Several teams have strengthened their squads in a bid for FUFA Big League promotion.
Super Eagles Lugongwe FC
The defending champions of the Buganda Region League will start their campaign away to Kajjansi United Football Club at Mwerwerwe Mattuga playground on October 19, 2025.

Super Eagles Lugongwe FC aims to earn promotion to the FUFA Big League after the regional promotional playoffs last season to Catda FC. They have bolstered their squad with signings like:
Francis Olaki Olaki Former Uganda Cranes forward with professional experience in Zambia, Albania, and Botswana
Pacy Winger Konde From Catda Football Club

Attacking Midfielder Mike Kayongo who Featured for Buddu and currently played for Buweekula Ssaza FC
The team has retained key players like:

Lukoye Samuel Last season’s top scorer with 15 goals

Super Eagles Lugongwe FC is under the guidance of former SC Villa and URA FC goalkeeping coach Kiberu Mubarak and is assisted by Davis Nono who doubled as the head coach University Football League side St Lawrence.
Fahad Nsubuga is the team captain.
UWA FC
UWA FC, under the captaincy of Ryan Figo Kizito, lost the 2023-24 Buganda Region League playoffs finals to Ntugasaze FC. They’ve strengthened their squad with signings like:

Agile Forward Samuel Ssemuggu rejoined UWA FC from Lugazi FC ,Silky Winger Faizo Ssekyazi Formerly of St Mary’s Nabweru FC, Express FC, and Onduparaka,

Ogen Joeram From Booma FC,
Utility Player Kirumira Reagan ‘Tigan’ Formerly of Edgar’s FC,

Goalkeeper Nsamba Hakim From Mbarara City among others.
UWA FC will start their campaign at home against Uganda Sports Arena at Namulonge Playground on October 19, 2025.

Mugaga Andrew is the current Head coach after serving as the assistant coach the past seasons.
Kira United FC
Last season’s runners-up, Kira United FC, lost the Buganda Region League playoffs finals to Super Eagles Lugongwe FC. New signings include:

Shafik Nyanzi

Kira United FC will start their campaign at home against Young Simba FC at Kira grounds.
Former Uganda Cranes , Proline FC and Kaizer Chiefs defender Ivan Bukenya is part of their technical team .
Saziri Nkonge is among the players that renewed their Contractors.

Buwambo United FC
Buwambo United FC will kickstart their season away to Buikwe Red Stars.
New signings include:

The team will be looking to make a strong impression this season after losing forward Mike Walaga to Mbarara City FC and Calvin Peter Amayo to UWA FC
Buwambo is under the guidance of coach Patrick Kimuli and Kiyaga Alex is their captain
