The CAF A-licensed tactician is taking over at a crucial moment, having been entrusted with the responsibility of steering URA FC back to winning ways after a sluggish start to the league season. Mbalangu arrives with a familiar and trusted technical team that was officially unveiled in Zanzibar on Monday.
He will be assisted by Bastu Semuyaba as first assistant coach and Richard Kansole as second assistant coach, club officials said. Muwadda Byuma has been named goalkeeper coach, while Farouk Osama takes charge as the fitness trainer. Interim head coach Edward Golola has been relieved of his duties.

However, continuity remains within the backroom staff, with Manko Kawesa retained as deputy fitness trainer and Isma Sserebe continuing in his role as the team statistician.
Speaking to club media, Mbalangu said they were there to work and bring back the success the great club deserved. He thanked the management for the trust and opportunity, saying they were ready to start immediately, beginning with the Mapinduzi Cup. Mbalangu warned that those who hadn’t played URA FC yet should get scared because they were there to win.

The experienced coach brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his previous stints across the region and beyond. His coaching résumé includes spells at Banadir SC (now Mogadishu City) in Somalia, Blacks Power, Arua Hill, Mbarara City, and most recently NEC FC.
Mbalangu’s immediate focus will be the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar, where URA FC are set to kick off their campaign on 31st December against Mlandenge FC at the Amaan Stadium. URA FC have welcomed their new head coach with optimism as the club looks forward to a fresh chapter under his leadership.
