Sadat Anaku Seals Move to USL Championship: A New Chapter in American Soccer

Former KCCA FC forward Sadat Anaku has officially joined USL Championship side Hartford Athletic on a two-year employment contract. The Ugandan international, known for his impressive work rate, hold-up play, and shooting abilities, is expected to make a significant impact in the American soccer scene. Anaku’s journey to Hartford Athletic is a testament to his dedication and talent, having risen through the ranks of Ugandan football to earn a spot in one of the top leagues in the United States.

A product of the FUFA Juniors League, Anaku’s goal-scoring prowess was evident from an early age. He scored 27 goals in the 2016-17 season, followed by 26 goals the next year, and broke his own record with 31 goals in the 2018-19 FUFA Juniors League season. His impressive performances earned him a promotion to the KCCA FC Senior Team, where he made his professional debut in the 2019-20 season.

Anaku’s impressive domestic performances caught the attention of Scottish side Dundee United, who signed him on a two-year contract in August 2022. Although his stint in Scotland was marked by injuries and limited playing time, Anaku’s determination and resilience have led him to this new opportunity.

Anaku’s move to Hartford Athletic marks a new chapter in his career, and he is eager to make a name for himself in the USL Championship. The 25-year-old striker is known for his left-footed prowess and is expected to bring a unique skillset to the team. Hartford Athletic, founded in 2018, is a relatively new club in the USL Championship, but they are determined to make their mark in American soccer.
