At the Kira Road Police Arena, hosts Police Football Club registered an impressive 2–0 victory against KCCA FC.

The first half ended goalless, with both sides creating chances but failing to break the deadlock. However, Police FC came out stronger after the break and took the lead six minutes into the second half through Obedi Brian James, who fired in a stunning long-range effort after being set up by Denis Kalanzi.

Police FC continued to pile pressure on the visitors and doubled their advantage 11 minutes later. Forward Bedia Ikamba calmly finished off another well-worked move, once again assisted by Denis Kalanzi, who capped off a brilliant individual performance with his second assist of the match.

The victory marked a significant milestone for Coach Matia Lule’s side, as Police FC ended KCCA FC’s five-match winning streak. Despite the defeat, KCCA FC remain top of the Uganda Premier League table with 26 points from 12 matches. However, the loss deals a blow to their title ambitions, especially with close competition behind them.

Police FC’s win sees them climb to third place on the table with 24 points from 12 matches, firmly establishing themselves as serious title contenders. Both teams will return to action on January 21st, with KCCA FC traveling to Luzira Prisons Playground to face Maroons FC, while Police FC will host Calvary FC at the Kira Road Police Arena.

The decisive moment came in the 52nd minute when Derrick Byabacwezi scored the only goal of the match, handing Buhimba a long-awaited win.
The result was particularly significant for Buhimba, who had gone eight matches without a victory, recording seven losses and one draw during that period.

The win lifts Buhimba out of the relegation zone, placing them 8th on the table with 13 points from 12 matches.
