Odongo Earns Call-Up As Paul Put Names Uganda Cranes Squad for Zanzibar Friendly

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that the Uganda Cranes will face Zanzibar in an international friendly on Thursday, June 11, at Amaan Stadium. The match forms part of Zanzibar Football Federation’s centenary celebrations marking 100 years of organized football administration.
Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has named a 22-man squad for the trip, with Entebbe UPPC FC right back Jonathan Odongo among the new faces. Odongo enjoyed a standout season in the Uganda Premier League and was named in the StarTimes UPL Team of the Season. Known for his ability to track back, deliver crosses, and support in attack, the defender brings balance to Uganda’s right flank.

FUFA accepted the invitation from Zanzibar as part of the host federation’s 100th anniversary commemorations.
