Meet Barca B Kiwanga: The Mukono Side Building Uganda’s Next Generation of Talent

A new force in grassroots football is quietly taking shape in Mukono, and it goes by the name Barca B Kiwanga. Founded in 2013, the club was built on a simple but ambitious vision: create a platform where young players can develop, compete, and break through to the highest levels of Ugandan football. More than a decade later, that mission is still driving everything they do.
Barca B Kiwanga’s philosophy is centered on youth development and attacking, expressive football.

The technical team, led by Head Coach Lubega Siraje with Assistant Coach Kawombe Chrispas and Manager Denis, is focused on molding technically sound, tactically aware players who aren’t afraid to take risks in the final third. The club’s long-term goal is to become the premier youth pipeline in Mukono, known for producing players who can step straight into competitive senior setups.
That means competing at the highest level possible in every division they enter, winning leagues along the way, and transferring talent to bigger clubs across the country. Off the pitch, they’re also working to grow a loyal fan base that identifies with the club’s identity and roots in the community.

The recruitment strategy reflects that vision. Barca B Kiwanga primarily scouts and signs young players, giving them the structure, coaching, and game time needed to refine their craft. The idea is to influence raw talent early, instill professional habits, and prepare them for the physical and mental demands of Uganda’s league system. Every training session and match is geared toward one outcome: bridging the gap between local talent and national recognition.
Looking ahead, the club is also considering a rebrand to Kiwanga FC to better represent the village and strengthen its local identity. The name change would anchor the project even more firmly in the community it serves, making it clear that this is a team built for Kiwanga, by Kiwanga.

For a club that started with modest beginnings, Barca B Kiwanga is carving out a clear role in Uganda’s football ecosystem. If the pipeline keeps flowing, Mukono might soon be known for more than just its location. It could become a breeding ground for the next wave of stars.
