Born to the late Mr. Mugerwa Swalih and Naluyima Rehema Zam, Faisal’s upbringing in Munaka, Lubaga Division, has instilled in him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underprivileged communities.

Faisal’s love for football was ignited at a young age, and he began his journey with Sparta O9 Academy under Coach Patrick Ssonko, later moving to Kampala Junior Team and Mydel Soccer Academy. His footballing idols, Andreas Iniesta and Tony Mawejje, have inspired him to emulate their skills and dedication.

Faisal’s professional career took off with UPDF FC Junior Team, followed by stints at Express FC Junior and Senior Teams. Despite facing a setback due to a knee injury, Faisal’s resilience and determination have driven him to make a comeback with Sparta O9.

However, Faisal’s greatest impact lies in his philanthropic efforts. As the co-founder and CEO of Open Door Mugerwa Foundation Uganda, he has been transforming the lives of homeless orphans, single mothers, and underprivileged children. The foundation provides essential necessities like school supplies, scholarships, clothes, and sanitation products.
