Match Report: Maroons FC 3-1 Police FC
Venue: Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku
Date: Saturday 25th 2026

Maroons FC wasted no time asserting themselves. Marvin Oshaba opened the scoring in the 11th minute after a smart assist from Ivan Mayanja.

Just four minutes later, Mayanja doubled Maroons’ lead, finishing off a well-worked move with Raymond Walugembe providing the assist. With a goal and an assist inside the opening 15 minutes, Mayanja had stamped his authority on the game early.

Police FC pulled one back through Dues Bukenya in the 36th minute, giving the Cops a lifeline before halftime.

However, any hopes of a comeback were ended late on. Brian Nkuubi sealed the victory for Maroons with a thunderbolt in the 88th minute, leaving the Police goalkeeper with no chance.

Mayanja was directly involved in two of Maroons’ three goals. The attacking midfielder has now scored four goals and registered three assists this season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, underlining his importance to Muhammad Ssenfuma’s side.

Speaking after the match, Mayanja said:

“I feel really happy after we recorded a victory in the Battle of the Forces. Secondly, I’m delighted that I got on the scoresheet and also provided an assist. It gives me great joy when the team wins and when I deliver what the coaches expect from me. We worked hard as a unit, and I’m glad my contribution helped us get the three points. We’ll keep pushing.”

Marvin Oshaba was named Man of the Match for his early goal and lively performance that set the tone for Maroons FC.

It was a disappointing result for Coach Mathias Lule and his Police FC side, who struggled to cope with Maroons’ intensity. In contrast, Coach Muhammad Ssenfuma’s men returned to Luzira Barracks with smiling faces and three valuable points.

Maroons FC will be back in action on Tuesday at 8 PM when they visit the Tax Collectors, URA FC, looking to build on this momentum.

With Mayanja pulling the strings in midfield and the team firing on all cylinders, Maroons FC sent a clear message in the Battle of the Forces. The win lifts morale in Luzira, while Police FC must regroup quickly if they are to avoid slipping further down the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
