Former Referee Kiweewa Emmanuel Joins Masaza Cup Side As Vice Chairman Technical
Retired referee Emmanuel Kiweewa has been appointed as the Vice Chairman Technical for Busiro Ssaza Football Club, ahead of the 2026 Masaza Cup. Kiweewa, a former Uganda Premier League referee, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having officiated top-tier matches and served as a referee up to 2020, when his career was cut short by a five-year ban.
Prior to his refereeing stint, Kiweewa was involved with Busiro Ssaza FC in 2016 and also worked with Express FC. His appointment is expected to boost the team’s technical capabilities as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign, where they failed to progress beyond the group stages.
As Vice Chairman Technical, Kiweewa is likely to play a key role in shaping the team’s strategy and development, leveraging his experience in refereeing and football administration. Under his guidance, Busiro Ssaza FC aims to reclaim their position as a top contender in the Masaza Cup, building on their 2022 triumph where they lifted the trophy with wins like the 2-1 victory over Buddu.
The Busiro Ssaza FC management committee includes Chairman Dr. Vincent Ssajjabbi, Vice Chairman (Admin) Richard Kijjambu, Vice Chairman (Technical) Kiweewa Emmanuel, Secretary/CEO Walakira Mukisa Andrew, Team Manager Thomas Mujuzi Moore, Treasurer Mr. Bisasso Moses, Safety & Security Mulangira Jjuuko David, Publicity Mr. Waiswa Sinani, Team Doctor Mr. Mutumba Abraham, Fans Coordinator Mr. Muliika Lawrence, Patron Oweek. Ddamulira Joseph, and Coach Simon Dungu.
With Kiweewa on board, the team is poised to tap into his expertise to improve their performance and make a mark in the 2026 Masaza Cup.
