At Royal Park in Butema, Startimes Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC thumped FUFA Big League side Bunyaruguru United 6-0 in Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup. Gaddafi Wahab gave Kitara FC an early lead in the sixth minute, setting the tone for a ruthless display.

Kalema Jimmy doubled their lead in the 28th minute, leaving Bunyaruguru’s defense scrambling. Kato Nemeyimana scored the third goal for Kitara FC in the 45th minute, sending the team into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead.

The second half was more of the same, with defender Benjamin Nyakoojo scoring the fourth goal for Kitara FC six minutes after the restart.

Forward George Ssenkaaba joined the party, scoring the fifth goal for Kitara Football Club in the 70th minute, and the goals just kept coming! With three minutes to stoppage time, attacking midfielder Kabon Living sealed the deal, scoring his fifth goal for Kitara FC this season across all competitions.

The one-time Uganda Cup champions, Kitara FC, have joined the likes of KCCA FC, NEC FC, and Kagaba Happy Boys, who have already advanced to the quarter-finals.

This win has surely boosted their confidence, and they’re looking like strong contenders for the title.
