Kampala Region League Kicks Off with Thrilling Matches, Testing FUFA’s New Format
The Kampala Region League has officially kicked off, marking a new chapter in Ugandan football. The league, which is testing the new format introduced by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), kicked off with two thrilling matches at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.

This new format is being tested in the Kampala Region after being rejected by Uganda Premier League clubs.
In the first match, Proline FC and Lufula FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Okello Morris gave Proline FC an early lead in the 14th minute, but Lufula FC equalized through Jonathan Kinene in the 63rd minute.

Despite being reduced to 10 men after Jimmy Mitala’s sending off six minutes later, Lufula FC managed to hold on for a point.
Okello Morris of Proline FC was not only the first player to score in the league but also took home the Man of the Match award.

Hamuza Kasumba’s Brace Inspires Mbogo to Victory
In the second match, Mbogo FC comfortably defeated Kisugu United FC 2-0. Hamza Kasumba was the star of the show, scoring both goals for Mbogo FC. His first goal came in the 35th minute with a well-taken shot into the upright corner.

Kasumba doubled Mbogo’s lead in the 77th minute with a curling shot into the far left corner. Kisugu United FC’s defender Stephen was sent off in the 58th minute after receiving a second caution.
Hamza Kasumba was named Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
The matches were well attended, with fans turning up in big numbers to cheer on their teams, thanks to the free entrance.
