Gomba Take Big Advantage Over Buddu
Gomba County made the biggest statement in the first-leg quarter finals of the Masaza Cup after securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Buddu.
Gomba put themselves in a strong position to advance to the semi-finals, scoring three unanswered goals against their traditional rivals and leaving Buddu with a mountain to climb in the return leg.
Kyagwe also claimed a crucial away advantage, defeating Mawogola 2-1. Mawogola will now have to overturn the one-goal deficit in the return leg if they are to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
Busujju also secured a narrow advantage after defeating Butambala 1-0. The single goal margin leaves the tie delicately poised ahead of the second leg.
The most tightly contested quarter-final produced no goals, as Bugerere and Kyadondo played out a 0-0 draw. Neither side could find the breakthrough, setting up a decisive second leg with everything still to play for.
