Speaking after joining Mgarr, Kabene said: “I think change is part of life. Mgarr is the best team I have played against in Malta in one season here. What I liked about them is that they are committed and hard working. I played against them, and they are the league champions.”
On joining the champions and the pressure that comes with it, she added: “Yes, the pressure will be high, but I will give my best to prove that I can make it. This season we are going to play in the UEFA Champions League. It will be my first time, and I will gain experience. I will try to listen to my coach and follow their instructions so that I can do my best.”

Asked about the difference between Maltese and Ugandan football, Kabene said: “So far, this was my first time here. Maltese football is good. The players are experienced, and they rely more on knowledge than energy. They have good technical ability, especially the defenders of Mgarr, because I have faced them.”
On her role as a striker this season, she said: “What I want this season is to score goals. As a striker, I need to score goals. I want to be one of the best foreign-based players, win individual awards, and help the club win trophies.”

Kabene also named her inspiration as a professional player: “I look up to Olivia Smith, who plays for Arsenal.”
She had a message for supporters: “Come and support us. We are ready to defend the title, and I am ready to give my best. I respect my colleagues and the technical staff, and I will stay disciplined. I call on all our supporters to come in bigger numbers and support us.”

During her time at Hibernians Paola, Kabene scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 12 senior-team matches. For the U21 side, she scored seven goals and registered two assists in four matches.
