Transfers: Ugandan Defender Joins Scottish Premiership Side
Elvis Bwomono, the Ugandan international defender, has joined Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen FC on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Bwomono, 27, previously played for English side Southend United and St Mirren in Scotland, among others. He impressed manager Stephen Robinson with his versatility, speed, and athleticism during a trial period.
Robinson said Elvis is a player he knows well from his time at St Mirren, and his versatility will give them important cover across several positions. He added that Elvis is quick, athletic, and comfortable operating in a back three, at full-back, and even in midfield when needed.
Bwomono said he’s delighted to be at Aberdeen and is looking forward to working with the manager again. He wants to help the team as much as he can and is impressed with the quality in the group. He added that they have seven big games ahead, and his focus is on doing everything he can to help the team finish the season as strongly as possible.
Aberdeen FC currently sit 9th in the Scottish Premiership table with 30 points from 31 matches. Next up, they’ll face St Mirren, Bwomono’s former side, away at SMISA stadium on April 4th.
