The Buganda Region League resumed yesterday with five thrilling matches that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Here’s a rundown of the action-packed day:
At Katikamu Vett playground, Wobulenzi United shared spoils with Synergy FC in a 1-1 draw. Jingo scored for the hosts Wobulenzi United, while Mike Katumwa equalized for Synergy FC.

This result came after Synergy FC’s previous match was abandoned in the 86th minute against Simba FC due to an unfortunate incident involving an assistant referee and an unknown fan.
In Kiboga, Kiboga United pulled off a late comeback to beat Manyangwa Football Club 2-0 at Kiboga Ssaza Ground. Joseph Ssewali and Habibbu Mugume scored crucial goals in the 74th and 75th minutes, respectively, to give Kiboga United a much-needed win.
Despite this victory, Kiboga United remained in the relegation zone, 14th on the table with 14 points from 20 matches, while Manyangwa Football Club sat 13th with 20 points.

Simba FC unleashed their fury on Nyendo FC, thumping them 5-0 at Gayaza Namulonge Playground. Donald Wafula opened the scoring in the 34th minute, before Kenneth Sebadduka doubled their lead in the 50th minute. Cyril Enos Ejoku, Samuel Ssemuggu (who now has 15 goals this season), and Gerald Asiku added to the tally, making it a memorable day for Simba FC.
This win closed the gap between Simba FC and league leaders Buwambo United FC to just five points, with Simba FC having 42 points from 19 matches.

Kira United FC edged Kajjansi United 1-0 courtesy of Shafiq Nyanzi’s spot kick in the 18th minute. This was Shafiq Nyanzi’s 9th goal of the season, and it helped Kira United FC maintain their sixth-place position on the table with 35 points from 19 matches.
Kajjansi United, on the other hand, remained eighth with 26 points from 20 matches.
In Masaka, Masaka City SC came from two goals down to snatch a point against Nantabulirwa FC in a 2-2 draw. Martin Odita and Fahad Galandi scored for Nantabulirwa FC, but Masaka City SC responded through Muhammad Kasule and Joseph Enyabu.

Muhammad Kasule took his tally to 15 goals this season, four goals behind the current leading topscorer Derrick Taremwa of Young Simba FC.
