Beach Soccer Super 4 returns as Kampala City and St. Lawrence University seek a record third title.
Ahead of the 2026-2027 Beach Soccer League, the traditional tournament to herald the new season returns on September 20 at Bunjako Beach, with draws held at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, on September 14, with Kampala City and St. Lawrence aiming for a third record title.
In the draws, growing force Kampala City Beach Soccer Club was drawn against Mutoola Beach Soccer Club while St. Lawrence were drawn against MUBS.
The emerging force Kampala City seek to continue shifting the beach soccer pedigree in Uganda, having won two titles in the previous two editions in 2024 and 2025.
The preseason tournament champions will either surpass the two-time champions St. Lawrence University or the 2023 and 2022 champions to reclaim their status in the competition.
However, winners of the two fixtures will face each other in the final also scheduled later in the evening of September 20, with Mutoola Beach, who have lost two finals, continuing to seek their first Super 4 title as the only team in this year’s contest without a preseason title. MUBS won the inaugural edition in 2021.
Speaking at the draws, Uganda Beach Soccer Association Chairman Deo Mutabaazi rallied fans: “Beach soccer is different from football; it is much more exciting, and fans must come and enjoy these thrilling fixtures.”
In 2024, the newest club in this year’s Super Four edged Mutoola Beach Soccer Club 6-2 in the final, while in the most recent final last year, they defeated MUBS 4-2 to win the title they seek to defend.
