Asap Mwebaze: A Coaching Legacy Ends.

Coach Asaph Mwebaze has announced his retirement from coaching, reflecting on his incredible journey and expressing gratitude to those who supported him.

Mwebaze said he knows it’s time to call it quits, but acknowledging it and saying it out loud are two different things. He feels lucky to have had the career he did and thanked his past and present players, saying they are the reason he did it for so long. He wouldn’t trade the early mornings, late nights studying film, sweat, and rain-soaked practices for anything.

Mwebaze said he hopes he taught his players more than just how to run a play, but also how to be men who walk with integrity, discipline, and respect for the game. He watched them grow from nervous teenagers into confident young men, and that’s the true victory of his career.

He thanked his coaching staff, including those from Maroons, Bugolobi, Hope Doves, Nyamityobora, Onduparaka, Bright Stars, Mbale Heroes, and Mawogola Ssaza, calling them his brothers in the trenches. He appreciated their loyalty and passion, which made him what he is today.

Mwebaze also thanked administrators, staff, and fans for trusting him with their teams and for their unwavering support. He thanked his family, including his kids Vanessa, Venus, and Eze, for sacrificing so much so he could chase his dream.
