Slavia Prague Signs Uganda Cubs Attacking Midfielder

Czech Republic Chance Liga side Slavia Prague has completed the signing of Uganda Cubs attacking midfielder Abubakali Walusimbi.

Abubakali Walusimbi joins the Czech Republic side from Vipers Sports Club.

Despite training with the senior team, Walusimbi is yet to sign a professional contract because, in most European countries, the legal age to sign a contract is 18 years old, and Walusimbi is currently below 18.

He was part of the Uganda Cubs side that won the CECAFA U17 CAF Zonal Qualifiers; Walusimbi, who possesses excellent technical abilities and vision, was a key creative force in Uganda’s midfield and was voted MVP in the tournament. He helped St Mary’s Kitende lift the 2023 NPP championship.

He was part of the Vipers SC senior team that won a double last season, namely the Stanbic Uganda Cup and Uganda Premier League.

Slavia Prague is a Czech professional football club founded in 1892 by medicine students in Vinohrady, Prague.

Initially focused on cycling, the club expanded to football in 1896 and quickly established itself as a powerhouse in Czech football. Slavia Prague are the current Chance Liga defending champions.
