BUL FC Begin Squad Overhaul With Exodus of Over Ten Players

BUL FC have confirmed a major squad reshuffle ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season, with more than ten players set to depart following the expiry of their contracts. The club announced the decision as part of a long-term plan to refresh the team and place greater emphasis on emerging talent from within its development structures.

In a statement closing out the summer update, BUL FC thanked every player who wore the green and yellow and made clear that none of the players whose agreements ended this summer would be renewed.

The Eastern Giants said the move was deliberate, aimed at building a squad capable of competing at the highest level of domestic football. The club also confirmed that work to strengthen the team has already started, with news on retained players and new arrivals to follow.

The list of departures includes several notable names. Ibrahim Orit, Fredrick Ngalo, Bakali Magumda, Viane Sekajugo, Thomas Ochungo, Jeromy Kirya, Nicholas Mwere, Julius Barasa, Isaac Wagoina, and Karim Ndugwa will all leave the club.

Kirya, who has been a target for multiple Uganda Premier League sides, and Mwere, already linked with a move to Vipers SC, are among those expected to attract interest quickly. Wagoina’s exit comes despite arriving at BUL FC in good form, as he struggled to replicate that impact during his spell with the club.

BUL FC ended their message by expressing gratitude to the departing players for their service and commitment, stating they will always remain part of the BUL FC family. The club wished them well for the next stage of their careers as it begins a new cycle with a younger, reshaped squad.
