Buganda Region League resumed over the weekend with thrilling encounters across different venues.
In a thrilling encounter, Buwambo United claimed a 3-2 victory over Kira United FC at Buwambo Playground, courtesy of Waswa’s goal and Bernardo Kateregga’s brace.

Kateregga Bernardo was voted Buwambo’s player of the match after scoring a brace.
This win propels Buwambo United FC to second position with 58 points from 26 matches, setting the stage for a gripping title showdown with leaders Simba FC.
Simba FC, however, didn’t miss a beat, comfortably dispatching Wobulenzi United Football Club 3-0.

Silky winger Kenneth Sebadduka gave Simba FC an early lead in the 23rd minute, before Sam Ssemuggu scored their second goal in the 71st minute, taking his tally to 18 goals this season.
Robert Ssewanyana sealed the win in the 77th minute, propelling Simba FC to the top of the summit, level on points with second-placed Buwambo United FC. The tension is palpable, with just a few matches left to play – it’s anyone’s game.

Meanwhile, other results saw Buikwe Red Stars relegated to the Province League after a goalless draw with Nantabulirwa.
Young Simba FC shared spoils with Synergy FC, 2-2, with Derrick Taremwa and Yazid Bakole Irima scoring for the former. Synergy FC fought back from two goals down, thanks to Peter Mono and Mike Katumwa’s strikes.
Elsewhere, Kiboga United defeated Kajjansi United FC 2-0, while Meddie Kasule’s goal gave Masaka City SC a 1-0 win over Uganda Sports Arena FC, taking him to 24 goals and joint top scorer with Derrick Taremwa. Manyangwa FC and Nyendo FC played out a goalless draw.
