Matchday 29 of the Kampala Region League delivered goals, drama, and major shifts in both the title chase and the relegation scrap, with Proline FC and table-topping Black Stars producing emphatic victories to underline their credentials.
From Lugogo to Kyambogo, the action was relentless as strikers ran riot and defensive lapses were brutally punished. With the season entering its decisive phase, every point matters, and the latest round of fixtures made that abundantly clear as contenders strengthened their grip and strugglers slipped further into trouble.
At the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Proline FC sent a resounding message with a 4-1 demolition of Mutungo Football Club.

Red-hot forward Brian Katete was once again the difference-maker, netting a brace in the 35th and 49th minutes to continue his remarkable run of seven goals in his last seven matches.
Proline’s dominance was further underlined when John Bazanye added a third in the 62nd minute, before captain Paul Kiradha put the result beyond doubt. Mutungo’s Adule grabbed a late consolation, but this was Proline’s night.
The win marked their second home victory in the championship round and reaffirmed their intent to fight for the title.
Away from home, league leaders Black Stars showed no mercy as they dispatched Born Talent FC 3-0 at Kyambogo College playground.
Born Talent’s woes were compounded when Ibra Jowab was sent off, leaving them to finish the match with ten men.

Black Stars, who thrashed PCCP FC 4-1 in their previous outing, are clearly scoring for fun and look determined to maintain their place at the summit.
Elsewhere, Wembley Boys FC stunned hosts Kisugu United FC 2-1, thanks to a brace from Joel Derrick Munarira, while Lufula SC were equally ruthless in their 4-1 thrashing of Lungujja Galaxy FC at Express Kanyanya.
Daniel Lukenge scored twice, with Andrew Katumba and Samuel Robert Kayizi also on target. Shafic Kaweesi’s reply was little more than a consolation for Lungujja in their relegation fight.
The struggles continued for Kireka United FC, who fell 2-1 to Water FC under coach Vialia Bianomugusha. Mbogo UTD enjoyed a comfortable afternoon, cruising past Police Young FC 3-0.

Ntinda United edged Nsambya SC 2-1 on the road, with goals from Saidi Abubakari Kanto and Alvin Kitibwa sealing the points. In a tense relegation battle, Buganda Road and Lukuli Hearts FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Matchday 29 reinforced the growing sense that the Kampala Region League is now a two-horse race at the top, with Black Stars and Proline FC both flexing their attacking muscle and refusing to blink.
Katete’s blistering form and Black Stars’ consistency mean the title could go down to the wire, while the relegation picture remains chaotic with Lungujja Galaxy, Kireka United, and Buganda Road all scrapping for survival.
With goals flowing and red cards changing games, the league continues to deliver compelling storylines each week. As the championship round intensifies, momentum, discipline, and clinical finishing will decide who lifts the crown and who faces the drop.
