UPL: Vipers SC Maintain Top Spot With Win Over Buhimba

Vipers SC Edged Buhimba United Saints
Vipers SC got back to winning ways in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, claiming a 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Buhimba United Saints FC away from home at Royal Park Butema.
The match saw Vipers SC take the lead in the 12th minute after a long throw-in taken by Enock Luyima was poorly cleared by Buhimba United Saints FC captain Maxwell Owachgi, accidentally putting the ball into his own net. Vipers SC sealed their victory from Abdul Karim Watambala’s spot kick, doubling their lead. Watambala Karim is now the current leading topscorer for Vipers SC with 10 goals this season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
This win marks a successful return to form for Vipers SC, who had drawn their two previous Uganda Premier League matches against SC Villa and Kitara Football Club.
The victory also completes a double over Buhimba United Saints FC, having thashed them 4-0 in the first leg at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
Defenders Kevin Bady and Hillary Mukundane were recognized for their outstanding performances, being named the StarTimes Uganda Premier Man of the Match and Vipers Fans Man of the Match, respectively.
Vipers SC currently top the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 55 points from 24 matches, six matches left to play. They will return to action on April 26th at home against Entebbe UPPC FC.
