Two Schools Confirmed To Represent Mpigi Zone At USSSA Boys Football Championship
Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football commenced yesterday with Quarter finals matches, and the defending champions Kisozi Seed SS has emerged as one of the teams to represent the zone at the USSSA Boys Football Championship in Lira. Mpigi Mixed’s journey ended as they were ejected by defending champions Kisozi Seed 1-0. Butawuka SS edged St Suzan 1-0 to book their spot in the semifinals.
Mubende Army defeated Mumsa High School 4-1 via penalty kicks after a goalless draw in the normal time, showcasing their prowess in the penalty shootout. Ssingo SS defeated St Andrew Kaggwa Gombe 2-1, setting up a thrilling semifinal clash.
The semifinals saw defending champions Kisozi Seed SS claimed a 1-0 victory over Mubende Army, while Ssingo SS edged Butawuka Magezi Ntake SS 1-0, securing their place in the final.
After the semifinals, both Ssingo SS and Kisozi Seed SS have booked their places to the USSSA Boys Football Championship that will be held in Lira, confirming two schools to represent Mpigi Zone. Third Place playoffs will see Butawuka Magezi Ntake take on Mubende Army in the battle of supremacy, and the winner of this match will complete the list of the three teams that will represent Mpigi Zone in the USSSA Boys Football Championship, adding the last piece to the Mpigi Zone’s representation at the national championship.
