Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football Qualifiers: Quarterfinalists Confirmed

The Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football Qualifiers have reached the quarterfinal stage, with eight teams emerging victorious from the Round of 16 matches played today. The highly contested matches saw some of the top teams in the zone vying for a spot in the last eight, with only the best making it through to the next stage.

In a thrilling round of matches, Highway SS was sent packing following a 2-1 loss to Ssingo SS. In another match, St Suzan drew goalless with Alliance SS Mityana, but advanced to the quarterfinals on 5-4 via penalty kicks. Kiyuni SS’s campaign came to an end as they lost 2-0 to Mubende Army.

Perennial giants Bulo Parents were ejected by St Andrew Kaggwa 5-3 via penalty shoot-outs, having shared spoils 2-2 in normal time.

Mumsa edged Mubende Progressive 1-0 to advance to the last eight, while defending champions Kisozi Seed SS defeated Hope SS to book their spot in the quarterfinals.

Mpigi Mixed eliminated Bagezza Seed following their 2-1 win, securing a place in the last eight. St Lawrence Crown City’s journey ended after losing 5-4 to Butawaka via penalty kicks, following a 1-1 draw in normal time.

This edition of the Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football Qualifiers consisted of 40 different schools, all eyeing just three slots to the Nationals Post Primary championship that will be held in Lira. The quarterfinal matches promise to be thrilling, with the best teams in the zone looking to make it to the semifinals.
