Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football Qualifiers Kicked Off In Mubende.

The Mpigi Zone USSSA Boys Football Qualifiers kicked off today, April 8th, and will run until April 12th, 2026, hosted by Mubende Army. A total of 40 schools from Mpigi, Mityana, Mubende, Kassanda, Gomba, and Butambala are vying for only three slots for the Nationals Post Primary, which will be hosted by Lira Town College School.
The matches are being played on various playgrounds, including Kasenyi, Kasaan, Kateete, Kiyuni SS, Bageza Community, Bageza Seed SS, NTC Playground, and St. Peter’s Tech Mubende playground.

The action has been intense, with several teams making their presence felt in the early stages of the tournament. Bulo Parents claimed a 1-0 victory over Pride College Mityana, while Butawuka drew goalless with Bagezza Seed. Hosts Mubende Army thrashed Budinse Memorial 3-0, and Mumsa High School edged Kasambya Parents 2-0. St Andrew Kaggwa edged Kibibi Standard 3-0, and Mpigi Mixed shared spoils 1-1 with St Francis Busunju.
Other results include Bulo Parents defeating St Francis College Mityana 1-0, Ssingo SS thrashing Ebenezer SS 3-0, and Highway SS Kiganda edging Kiyinda Islamic 3-1.

Kitagobwa SS drew goalless with Mubende Light, and Kisozi Seed shared spoils 0-0 with St Suzan. St Suzan also drew goalless with St Maria Gorret, while Mityana SS lost 2-0 to Lawrence Crown City. Kiyuni SS claimed a 1-0 victory over Kibibi Parents, and Kisozi Seed thumped Mityana SS 4-0.
Alliance SS Mityana whitewashed Forest High School 5-0 and later claimed a 1-0 victory over Kiganda SS. St Francis Busunju defeated Mubende Light 1-0, and Mubende Army defeated St Charles Bujjuko 3-0. Kyanja High School claimed a 2-1 victory over Kiyinda Islamic, and Kiyuni SS edged Kibibi Parents SS. Hope SS walloped Forest High School 4-0, after drawing 0-0 with St Zion earlier.

The defending champions, Kisozi Seed Secondary School, are in Group A, one of eight groups comprising five teams each. Most teams have played two matches, and the competition is expected to intensify as the tournament progresses.
