In a pulsating encounter at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje University edged out Makerere University 2-1 in their final Group E match, securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the University Football League. Prior to the match, Makerere led Group E with 9 points, while Ndejje University had 8 points, needing a win to advance. The hosts took the lead in the 37th minute through Olupot Joel’s strike, silencing the Makerere fans.
However, the visitors equalized 7 minutes into the second half via Male Musa’s well-struck free kick, setting up a tense encounter.

And in a rematch of last season’s quarterfinal exit, Ndejje University will face St Lawrence University again in the quarterfinals.
“We’re not so scared despite them eliminating us in the last edition,” Siraje said. “We’re well prepared to overcome them; despite having some quality players, we are very confident we shall eliminate them and make it past the quarterfinals this time around.”
