Bunyoro Derby Delight: Ssenkaaba And Kabon Led Kitara FC’s Dominant Display

The newly-constructed Hoima City Stadium played host to a thrilling Uganda Premier League encounter, as Kitara FC unleashed their attacking firepower to dismantle Buhimba United Saints FC 4-0 in the Bunyoro Derby.

The Royals’ forward, George Ssenkaaba, made history as he became the first player to score a goal in the Startimes Uganda Premier league at the Hoima City Stadium , netting a brace and setting the tone for a dominant display.

Ssenkaaba’s clinical finishing was on full display as he opened the scoring in the 4th minute, catching the Buhimba United Saints FC defense off guard. Nine minutes later, he doubled Kitara FC’s lead, completing his brace and sending the home fans into raptures.

Kabon Living joined the party, scoring directly from a corner kick in the 34th minute, and four minutes later, he sealed the deal, scoring the fourth goal for Kitara FC and completing his own brace.

This commanding victory saw Kitara FC close the gap with table leaders Vipers SC, sitting second on the table with 46 points from 21 matches.

Kitara FC will now shift their focus to the Stanbic Uganda Cup as they face Bunyaruguru United FC on the 18th of this month.

Meanwhile, NEC FC edged Police FC 1-0 at the Kira Road Police Arena, with Ssenoga Muhammad Kagawa scoring the only goal in the 68th minute.

This win extended NEC FC’s unbeaten run to 11 matches, moving them up to seventh on the table with 34 points from 21 matches. The NEC FC fans were ecstatic, and their team’s consistency is starting to pay off.

NEC FC will now embark on their Stanbic Uganda Cup Campaign as they face Lugazi FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo on the 17th of this month.

In a tense encounter at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru, BUL FC and Mbarara City FC settled for a goalless draw. The match was marked by some great saves and missed opportunities, but in the end, both teams had to settle for a point each.
