NEC FC Edged Lugazi FC 2-0 in Uganda Premier League .
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League commenced today as NEC FC Claimed a 2-0 win over Lugazi FC at Najjembe Stadium.
Ssekamatte’s Brace Secured Win for NEC
Substitute Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo proved to be the difference-maker for NEC FC, scoring a brace after coming on for Emmanuel Kulunga in the 46th minute. His first goal, a shot from outside the penalty area, beat Lugazi FC goalkeeper Batali Allan in the 51st minute. Ssekamatte sealed the win in the 71st minute, converting a penalty after being fouled in the box.
Ssekammatte’s Post-Match Interview
“It felt amazing to score my first two goals,” Ssekamatte said. “Coming off the bench and making an impact was what made it special. I didn’t have a good game on my debut, but I learned from it and came back stronger.”
When asked about building on his performance, he added: “I was taking it one game at a time, focusing on teamwork and learning from the coaches. I believe consistency will come with time.”
Ssekammatte Samuel was voted the Linqsoft Aluminium and Uganda Premier League Man of the Match.
