The launch ceremony was graced by SP Tusiime Annet, the Officer in Charge of Iganga, who represented the Regional Police Commander, and she couldn’t hide her enthusiasm for the initiative.
SP Tusiime Annet took the opportunity to commend the growing participation of women in motorsport, a discipline traditionally dominated by men. “I am very happy to see women taking part in this competition. In the past, people thought motocross was only for men, but now we have women who have defied the odds and are doing a good job,” she said, highlighting the positive shift in the sport’s dynamics. She also assured all stakeholders and spectators of comprehensive security arrangements, stating,

This assurance is expected to boost confidence among participants and attendees alike.
Eastern Motor Club President Kees Kagolo outlined the objectives of the event, emphasizing its role in promoting grassroots motocross development and enhancing safety awareness among riders and spectators.
He also revealed that proceeds from the event will support Eastern Motor Club rally drivers Mansul Sanya and Amir Kawesa, who are currently fundraising for a new rally car. “This event is not just about competition; it’s about giving back to the community and supporting our drivers,” Kagolo said.
