After seven wonderful years, Timothy Awanyi has announced his departure from Israeli club Ashdod.
The Ugandan defender took to social media to pen an emotional farewell, thanking the club, fans, and management for their unwavering support throughout his journey in Israel.
“Thank you Ashdod for your support, friendship and dedication throughout this journey,” Awanyi wrote.
He reserved special gratitude for club officials Jacki and Noni, crediting them for the trust and belief they placed in him since he arrived. “The memories, lessons and achievements we shared will always hold a special place in my heart,” he added.
Awanyi also saluted his teammates and backroom staff, saying he was grateful to have worked alongside “such an amazing team.” He wished everyone continued success and happiness moving forward, closing with the heartfelt line: “Once a team, always a family”
